In Praise of a Mistress

"I have accepted the way they are should be. A default can never be at par with someone you invested so much emotions with. Asking you what we are is a terrible mistake. Are we more than friends? You answered yes with a definite nod. I asked you, are we less than lovers? You again answered yes, but this time without certainty. Quantifying a relationship is indeed difficult especially when we started on the wrong foot. Now I realized what I am now to you, a definite mistress or should I say the other party and sometimes less than a mistress. But I am a person too, and in this relationship being the mistress is not easy. I want to be yours and yours alone, but that seems to be an imagination beyond our reach. Who am I kidding, its beyond my reach.

One thing I can never fathom is that one day, I'll share this intimacy with another "mistress". Sadly, that day has come and its not with another mistress but with a person that you are willing to take a chance with. Why didn't we take a chance?"

I must say that being a mistress is one of the most difficult positions in life. Its the most hated, loathed, spit upon and most of all, malicious arrangement or relationship that is according to the "legal" partner. However, I can more than sympathize with people such as these because mistresses are people too and mistresses have feelings as well. They feel the happiness that a legal partner feel, they fell the sorrow that legal partner feels as well; perhaps we consider it quits. Querida, kabit, the significant other, Mistress, Kulasa whatever you call it view the relationship in a very different and unconventional way but I am neither saying that its preferable or loathsome. The thrill of getting caught, the fear of being left out, and the the choice whether to settle for less is something to look forward to when entering such an arrangement. I admit that I took part in such an endeavor and it has its ups and downs, but of course you cannot and comprehend the concept of pleasure if you have not experienced the opposite of pleasure.

Once I was asked, "are you really satisfied in you position right now?" and "do you really want to settle for less?" I answered, yes because I am happy with my position right now; we are more than friends but less than lovers. I am in between two worlds that feeds upon frustration and felicity. I am just showing the positive side of a significant other, but being in such a position is not for the faint hearted.

Yes, its a roller coaster ride. A ride that I have taken and finished and proud of.

What Lies Ahead

have you ever read a book and put it down since you were scared to know how it will all end? or a movie you walked out on cause you thought seeing the ending would just bring you to streams of tears or terror? well in life i guess you could say...most of us have gone through that. we all aspire for an end...that end that would bring us to that point of realization that we've accomplished what we're here for. somehow going through that path...we stopped on our trac ks unsure of what lies ahead...scared that it might not be for us...so stopped right there in the middle and head back only to start anew yet leaving an unfinished race. how would you ever get to that end if all that consumes you is your fear of the unknown...or the sadness that you might face? let it be that when you run that race you think of the moment where you get what you deserve..either that much coveted reward...or that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach...that next time you'll run again and it would be a sure win. the world would never stop for you...when you stop in the middle of the race..some will stop to give you words of encouragement...to give you inspiration...but it will always be you to decide to carry on. stopping in the middle of our tracks, you saw someone reached that end...and got what he deserved...suddenly you walked away with a heavy heart knowing you couldve done it even better...so i say run that race...face whatever lies ahead...only you can push yourself towards that end you aspire...whatever it maybe...so don't stop in the middle...finish the race.
